Welcome to Carports Place!

Welcome! Enjoy your stay, and here is some basic information on carports to get you started.

There are a variety of carports to choose from, mostly are metal carports but some are wood as well. Carports can either be free standing or attached to a house or other building. You really have to decide early on what type of vehicle you want to protect so that you’re able to get the right kind of carport that’s best for your needs. Carports can be used to protect other types of vehicles as well including but not limited to, RV’s, trailers, campers, and industrial machines like forklifts for example.

Carports are often used as a broader definition of coverings in general and can also include canopies and other car covers which are often used for industrial, agricultural and personal use. Often, carports are used for exactly what they sound like- to cover cars. Adding on a garage to a house can be an extremely expensive endeavor, and even more so if you have larger vehicles or other vehicles like trailer’s and RV’s so RV carports can be very useful. Canopy carports and particularly, free standing ones allow for a cheap and durable solution to protecting your valuable automobiles.

There are also options to save money by using do it yourself carport kits which can be tough to build for people inexperienced with assembly or carports in general as these kits often lack instructions for assembly, but they can offer a deep discount if you’re looking to save a few dollars. There are also what are commonly known as “portable carports” which are generally easy to fold up and pack and easy to assemble cloth based canopies which are often used for not only car coverings but for other types of venues such as flea markets, parks, and other recreational activities.

There are also other things to consider when researching a possible carport purchase. Warranties can add real value to your purchase because if you ever were to have a malfunctioning unit or any weather related damage you might be able to get your possibly thousands of dollars purchase replaced for free. Always remember if you expect having lots of heavy weather like snow or frequent wind and rain that you invest in a solid steel carports, although you can get other types you’ll ultimately save a lot of effort and frustration by getting the most durable one you can find.
